MOST IMPORTANT - NO SALES TAX IN DELAWARE!
Lots of History, museums, gardens to visit, and restaurants. Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, The Brandywine River (Wyeth) Museum, Delaware Art Museum, Hagley Museum, Fort Delaware, Old Swedes Church/Hendrickson House, Tall Ship Kamar Nyckel, just to list some for you.
Try www.visitwilmingtonde.com for help on restaurants in the area. REQUEST A FREE GUIDE FOR THE AREA from the first page.
There are various restaurants within walking distance of the show hotel (The "Doubletree DOWNTOWN") don't forget to check out Little Italy which is an easy drive for dining along its restaurant row over on the west side of Wilmington around 4th and Lincoln
