Hello Planeteers !
Lately I've purchased this unique kit manufactured by "Starki Miniatures" owned by PlanetFigure member Paweł Sterczewski (STARKI). Pawel is very approachable and the kit arrived in no time.
The kit represents an "Antibust", meaning that it intends to convert a Bust into a full figure. This Antibust is designed as a complementary kit to Young Miniatures MG42 Gunner (kit YM1822).
The kit comes in a sturdy carton box. The box art describes the assembled Antibust and an example of a complete painted figure.
In the box you get five pieces casted in grey resin: Boots, Legs, Lower part of the torso and the lower part of the great coat that fits perfectly with the resin parts included in Young Miniature's kit.
All parts are beautifully sculpted and the casting quality is superb with no casting marks except for some casting blocks that can be easily removed.
I truly like the idea behind these Antibusts. Not everyone have the ability or the necessary skills to sculpt on their own, so this kit offers the opportunity to convert an already beautifully bust into an amazing complete figure.
Highly recommended !

I truly like the idea behind these Antibusts.

Me too. Though I wish that they weren't necessary.

I don't understand why sculptors doing half-figures can't just chuck in a pair of legs while they're at it for those of us who prefer full figures. That way all bases are covered.

I don't mind "proper" busts (head & shoulders / chest) so much, but I think that most half-figures look a tad odd. As if they've suddenly been sawn in half at the waist (which of course they have), with a disembodied torso left hanging in mid-air.

Many is the beautifully sculpted half-figure that I've passed up for want of a pair of legs. I have a grand total of 1 (one) in my stash.
