Hello. I thought I'd post a few pictures of a bust I recently finished sculpting for a new company Michael Miniatures out of Washington State. The bust depicts Ernst August II, King of Hannover dressed in his Hannoverian Guard Hussar uniform. The scale is 250mm and the bust comes in 4 pieces. The main bust, pelisse, busby and the busby plume. The bust will be cast in resin. The piece is pictured here without the base which I later mounted onto the bottom of the bust. Expected release of this kit will be in the late Summer as the boxart will have to be completed. Here is the manufacturers webpage:

Wow, very nice!
Lots and lots of work, how many hours did it take you to do?

whats the material?

Ok, so maybe I do know what I want for x-mas (just planning ahead). Very nicely done and even a crap painter like me couldn't screw this up with all that detail! Matt you have a real flair for sculpting these busts and choosing very interesting subjects

Thanks, everybody. The master was sculpted with Magic Sculpt. A tiny bit of duro and some brass wire were used for misc details. As far as the number of hours spent sculpting, I lost count! ;-) I started it in early March and finished him a couple of weeks ago so about 2.5 months. The lace work and medals were difficult and very time consuming. The pelisse was also hard to make. I'm not sure I got it to hang quite right, but I think it works ok. Thanks again for looking.

all that uniform detail would drive me nuts!
Not surprised it took the time it did.
Especially as you like to work with the 'hard stuff' [as do I].

well worth the effort though, a very grand piece!

Never lose your patience to sculpt, Matt, because You have brought us here a masterpiece! And I'm sure of it, if the sculpt is allready a blessing for our eyes, the painted bust will be a knock out! One for me, please...

Really, really fantastic!

Eddy.

MattS is really fine and professional work!
