Hi everyone:

It has been a while since my last piece just for joy. Here's the result of a couple of months stealing minutes from worktime.
As there was none who dares to give a color painting to TRIFON miniatures "La Pieta" figure-kit (all of them painted in marble finish), I gave the first step with this version.

Hope you like it:

Thank you guys!

It's nice to see that those painting 'intentions' are noticeable.

Cheers!

This has to be the first time I've seen this kit actually painted in colour. You have done a really nice job, and have to agree with the flesh tones on Jesus, very applicable to the scene. The red background is a bit overpowering but your work is excellent.

Guille,
As I am listening to some DVD's of Michelangelo
and his life and times and work, This comes in very appropriate.
Excellent colours. Sorry I cant seem to get the bold turned off.
Cheers

Thanks John! Being a fan of Michelangelo's work I learn a lot more about him after been working (sculpt + paint) on this piece.
Now I admire him even more!!!

Cheers!

I think this is wonderful. The whole concept and your use of colour (blue) and fleshtones are superb. You have captured the anguish in his mothers face so well.
Well done

Don

Thank you Don!
Took me awhile to choose which would be the best combination of colors.

I saw some religious images of this scene in shades of pastel color but they didn't transmit the drama of the moment (not to mention any historical accuracy), so I decided to switch to a darker palette.

I started almost from a full black base on Mary’s clothing and then gradually turn lights to blue.
