This bust depicts a Drummer boy of the Regiment in walking out dress. Home on leave, leaning on a wall. Carrying his swagger stick and a gift for a loved one. Also enclosed is a second empty left hand if you would like to add something other than that supplied.

The swagger is seen in a lot of period pictures in walking out dress

Nice looking sculpt , like the work on the sword

I presume the wall is separate ?

Good to have the hand option

I believe the swagger stick was used to stop them putting their hand in their pocket so to look smart.

I have one from my great Uncle Bill.

Swagger sticks of different qualities and styles were issued to all ranks at this time, up to the outbreak of the First World War, for use when in Walking Out Dress.(y)
 
Nice job Tommi. You’ve captured the youthful look of the figure in the photo really well. Looking forward to trying to tackle the lacework.
