I know this is a rare figure but was just wondering if it's possible to source one? Anyone know if there are any plans to re-release it? I don't know which company produced it originally..

I just saw this excellent version.. (The painter is Henry Lam.)

Thanks,
Edward

What a lovely figure! Never seen it before. Would be interesting to know who released it.

Not too many Boxers about in any scale. The only ones I can think of are Elite (now OOP obviously) and Alexandros.

Hi I will see if one of my mates has one.I sold these figures Years ago and I know that a couple of my mates bought some. The only one who painted his was Michael Volquarts. They are 90mm figures.
Regards
Pete
By the way, it was sculpted beautifully by Mike Good.

What? Really? o_O:confused:

Talk about ancient history: this was the very first figure I ever sculpted ca. 1985. Yes, you read that right. This kit was originally sold by a company whose name now escapes me. It did not last long and I eventually sold it under my own brand, Historical Miniatures. That did not last long either.

I painted the original master and sold it to a collector. Back in those days I always painted the masters. No real chance of this being reproduced since only castings remain and even these are rare as hen's teeth. I have had thoughts on producing a new version of this subject. But given the weakness of the figure market these days, I do not see this as a viable plan. Sorry.

Good luck finding one! Even I do not have one of these......

Mike

Thanks Pete, if there's any chance of getting hold of one that would be amazing. I'd love to paint it.

Mike, thanks for the info - I didn't know it was your first sculpted figure! Shame it can't be reproduced..

Edward - I have one of these figures in the GGA but, SORRY that is where it is staying!! Bought it on Ebay several yrs. ago & paid a hefty price - HAVE NOT seen one since!! Mike - my kit was from the one & only you - Historical Miniatures - didn't know until now you were Historical Miniatures!! By the way VERY NICE figure considering how long ago it was sculpted!! All the best guys, Dave

Or ... you could always paint it! (y)

Have to agree Dave, a lovely figure and you are fortunate to have one.

By the way, is the dog included?

- Steve

Looks like a very interesting figure.

Now I'm wondering: Here is a Mike Good sculpt, an original cast from Mike Good's label and....Mike Good himself. Aren't those ideal circumstances to create an APPROVED recast?

I'd definitely like one!

Got one in my grey army purchased back in the late eighties or early nineties. Beautifully sculpted especially the face. One question for Mike regarding the pigtail. The figure I have the pigtail ends at the waist but some of them go all the way ends at the upper thigh. Are there two versions for the figure? Thanks!

As I said before, there were two different versions of the kit. The Historical Miniatures instruction sheet puts it as one of mine. Originally the pig-tail was separate. Obviously not on the kit you have. This all takes me back but, if I am honest, the quality of the castings is not good enough to serve as a master for production. AND, if I am REAL honest, the sculpt is too embarrassing for me to put it back in production.

No, it is better as a rare bit of a long lost past...... :wtf:

Darn, you are way too ethical to be a recaster Mike!

Cheers,
Adrian

I almost got my hands on a copy once, but it got ninja'd away before I had the chance. It is now on my holy grail list. It would be the jewel in my Mike Good collection.

Saw one ended on ebay today for GBP 51.00 and is in white resin and pole arms looks like in white metal. Never seen a resin casting before. There were only two releases in white metal in the eighties in brown carton box. May be is a re-release or a recast in white box. Just buyer beware.
