Now on chapter 3 ......masses of pictures and easy to understand text
Looking forward to the rest
Carole ( the boss ) is really happy says I've never been so quiet ......when's the next one planned is her question ....lol
Happy reading everyone
Great companion with Andy B trench book ...both look good together on the shelf
Nap
Way too go Nap!
Unfortunately tell Carole you’ll have to make do with this book as will be a long while before I embark on another if ever. A few more specific project articles may come out though.
And agree it is ideal companion to my other collaboration with Andy in his book
I just got my copy this morning, had a quick look through it.
First impressions are really positive, I like the combination of re-enactment photos, hand drawn illustrations and model photos.
The written content will take some time to get through there's so much (in a good way), a longer time to digest and a lifetime to implement, I'm sure it will help improve my modelling/painting skills.
The book looks like it's been a labour of love for you, it's well considered and researched, excellent work.
Thank you and thanks to all of your contributers.
Very kind thoughts & words Dave.
You summarised what I was trying to achieve so well.
And trust as you read though it you’ll glean more useful info.
Am grateful to you for taking the time to comment.
Mike it's great to see the number of people who have given positive response to the book, you have put a lot of work and effort into getting this published, so the praise is well-deserved, well-done mate you deserve for this to be a success.
Cheers
Steve
Thanks Steve, only disappointed I wasn’t able to use some of your products in the book. I will certainly be doing so over coming years though I’m sure.
Just ordered mine from the States,I'm anticipating to improve my skills to battle the Hun
Trust it arrived safely & soon so you can tell us what you think.
Do keep the receipt.
Hi Mike,
There is even a copy in British West Hartlepool, deerpark district. Looking forward to reading this when I get some free time.
I was out working today and had a job at Dennis Maloney's, he said I'm glad you turned up come with me.
So we went into his workshop and he explained he has mistakenly purchased two copies, so I traded him a
couple of my new 54mm releases and hey presto I have one.
cheers
Richie
I didn't realise you were a skinhead Mike

Well Richie - you’re in the draw mate!!
Will soon be opening this up to buyers if my book & evidence required will either be receipt or photo with book
Fortuitous of Dennis to have a spare copy to!
And not sure where you got ‘Skinhead’ from mate I’ve got a thinning mop of silver grey hair nowadays.
Thanks for sharing & am sure you’ll find lots inside to learn from.
I just tried out some of Mike's techniques for painting a face. They definitely helped, I was able to get much better eyes than I had previously. But I still have a long way to go......
Now that’s what I like to hear Nigel.
Practice & experiment - that’s how you have most fun.
Keep sharing your notes mate!
Hi Mike,
Not a WWI Modeller, but great book, well done.
Thanks Kylie - I’m on to WW2 projects now.
Cheers for everyone’s supportive comments.
