I think you should seriously consider doing more things in sepia. More flats maybe, but even rounds. I think this has some interesting [DARE I USE THE 'A' WORD?] artistic possibilities.

Maybe you painters should consider a competition or whatever constraining all painters to paint only in sepia tones?
