Miniature Grips for Painting

I have just purchased one of these https://www.pk-pro.de/Miniature-Holders-Grips-V3 to help my shaky hands. I haven't used it painting yet, but others have said they are excellent, and my first impression "dry handling" with a figure in it is that they look the real deal. Light, and very nice in the hand.

I just use old wood blocks but I'm a tight git...

So do I, but the main reason I bought one was to steady the hand when painting fine detail. The curved metal bar helps do this.

I got the full set..and found them great stuff..like handle and base the best. But I removed the protective metal thingies...they intruded on my getting up close and personal and somehow messed up my eye in achieving directional lighting with the paint...the smaller ones are perhaps not much better than plain corks, but for small bits give something stable to hold ..as far as being too nice to use...I think they will get a pleasant patina with use. Maybe a bit of luxury, but not overly extravagant...and better balance in my hand by far than Amati, or other metal headed holders. Can’t say how they compare to Sphere...Sphere does cool stuff and holders for horses

I ordered mine simply because it is nice to have well made tools to work with. There are lots of things we can go through life without but having shiny toys makes life that little bit more pleasant

Mine arrived this morning from Broakentoad, great service. I got the 90mm version and, after a quick look, have to say this is beautifully made and very comfortable to hold. The ‘egg cup’ stand to pop it into on the bench is very nice and it fits well without fear of it falling over.

Only worry is, what if I splash paint on it? It will spoil its utter gorgeousness

You will understand when you get it in your hand Kev lol.

Yep the ACW bust is my next up. Done the priming, acrylic base flesh and eyes. And he is ready to rock
