Dear guys, just to prove I've not been idle in my absence, please have a look at this. It was a pleasure to do. I hope you like. I will include some SBS type photos, so I do hope this can be a help to others. Any comments, questions etc. please do not hesitate to ask.

Hi BP

Great to see your benchtime results , looks good , the banner works very well and it's a good SBS on how it was achieved

What type of material did you use for it ?

Is it based on a actual one ?

Always good to see your artwork

Why not enter something in the class of your choice in FOTM , don't forget we also have the Vignette & Diorama comp , please take the time to consider and also do vote as well

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to the next thread

Happy benchtime

Dear guys, thanks as always. The banner is thick sheet foil from a jar of Coffeemate. I rolled it flat, primed it up with three coats of Halfords, then the real fun began!
The SBS makes me look all artsy, as if I know what I'm doing. If memory serves, the image is off Pintrest and is an old Russian icon. I sketched it out in pencil, purely to get the proportions right. I was careful to do it in slow stages. Once I was happy it wasn't going to turn out like a picture of Quasimodo, I got the oil paints out and made a start. It was constant trial and error. The aspect that tested my patience was the rest of the banner, the actual portrait part was fine.
I gave the archer himself some loud trousers as I wanted some aspect of him to 'sing' and not get lost. Thanks as always...
