Another different thing for me to paint.
My second Nepoleonic and after seeing this I will definitely paint the Blucher and Wellington
Always liked Napoleon and loved painting this.

Virtually no clean up required and lovely sculpting by Pavol

Went for the Dark Blue as I liked it complimenting the gold.

Base was dark Prussian blue + black
Highlights were base + light blue
Shadows were black with a wee bit Prussian blue.

Lace was Dark Star metallic which are great to use.
Regency gold mixed with brown leather
Burnt umber wash
Highlighted with Regency gold and old silver.

Cheers John, just some flesh base + blue and flesh base + grey washes for the shadow.

Thanks Pavol, absolutely skilful sculpting.

Cheers Del, That means a lot coming from you. I dulled the whites of the eyes this time.;)

Thanks Dom, Pavol did all the hard work he looks alive even when he's primed grey.

Gells,

Good to see this painted up and what a nice job you have done ...love the whites as well as the 5 o'clock shadow .

Intrigued about the gold lacework on the collar be interested what reference this is from?

Looking forward to seeing you do the others especially Blucher

Thanks or sharing n for the mixes

Nap

Hi Davie, thanks pal great kudos coming from a guy of your talent.

Hi Nap, thank you very much. The collar comes sculpted as braided so you'd need to ask Pavol where he got his pics. You probably know I don't spend hours doing meticulous research as I really can't wait to paint them. A two minute google convinced me to go with the blue uniform. I used this one as my ref.

Everything that every one else has said, plus i like the whites ,as they look like real cloth fabric.

Nice work! (y) Superb paint job! Could I ask how you did the whites? I agree with Brian in that they are very cloth like.
