Lots going on with the MMSI!
First up: Our monthly meeting is THIS FRIDAY, April 5, and it's the bi-annual FLEA MARKET, always a favorite! Oakton Community College, room 1604, doors open at 7 p.m. Members whose dues are all paid up can get a table to sell their surplus white-army etc. for $10 (first come, first served, one table per member). Or just come and buy some great stuff CHEAP!
Next: The MMSI will have a display table at the Elk Grove Historical Society's "History Game Day" on THIS SATURDAY, April 6. John VanDerMeulen is organizing the display and can use some help in manning the table during the day; email him at [email protected]. Game Day takes place at the Al Hattendorf Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village, noon to 7 p.m.
Finally, SCULPTING SATURDAY is on APRIL 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Alban's Church. For this day-long modeling seminar, Joe Berton [[email protected]] and yours truly [[email protected]] will demonstrate the basics of working with putty -- beginning sculpting and making simple but effective conversions. Putty and some basic tools will be provided, but bring a conversion project you've been afraid to tackle if you have one on hand, and we'll get you rolling! Email us for more information or to let us know you'll be coming, since space is limited.
