Hi all -- Sorry for any duplication in posting this reminder, but as of tomorrow, we're officially two weeks away from the Military Miniature Society of Illinois' annual CHICAGO SHOW, taking place once again at Chicago Marriot in Schaumburg, on Friday, Oct. 15, through Sunday, Oct. 17.
You can find the full show schedule on the MMSI Web site (http://www.mmsichicago.com/), but highlights include seminars by Jason Green (“Techniques on Acrylic Painting,” Saturday at 11 a.m.) and Rod Curtis (“Secrets to Painting Lace,” Sunday at 10 a.m.) and the annual figure auction (Saturday at 2 p.m.), which this year also will include an exquisite model of the USS Chicago pre-WWI by master ship modeler John Leyland.
Also of note is the raffle of a figure by 2008 Chicago Medalist Dave Browne (the 1/10th scale Young Miniatures US SOLDIER ARDENNES,1944) with all proceeds being donated to the Princess Margaret Palliative Care Unit of Toronto, Canada, in loving memory of Dave's wife Sherry, who many of you know recently passed away. (Even if you cannot attend the show please consider supporting this worthy cause by contacting MMSI show chairman Dave Peschke in advance.) Tickets are $1.
And did I mention the famous (infamous?) MMSI Hospitality Suite, or one of the best collections of miniature art on display in the world?
BOOK YOUR ROOM NOW THROUGH THE MMSI WEB SITE TO GET THE DISCOUNTED SHOW RATE! (http://www.mmsichicago.com/) And see you in Schaumburg!
