Hello Planeteers,

French brand Modeles & Allures managed by Mr. Cyrille Conrad, is reissuing the famous series of mounted figures from Le Cimier in 90mm (which are closer to 100-110mm by the way).

As I am writing, 2 different Napoleons are available (grey coat and chasseur), a cuirassiers officer, a mameluke officer, a general de division and king of France Henri IV. Originally sculpted by Cyrille's now defunct uncle Mr. Charles Conrad in the 1990ies, these are connoisseur figures and still a reference in our hobby.

Having seen one of these at Sevres show some time ago, casting and alloy are excellent, just as the original figures were.

Sadly the brand's website exists only in French but any non-French speaking modellist will easily navigate and find what he is looking for: http://modeles.etallures.free.fr/

thanks for posting this Paul.

Never seen the originals in the flesh but these do look nice; hopefully you will paint one and we will get a closer look at detail etc .

PS what are you painting at the moment

That old Henri IV figure was a superb figure in it's day and could bring a show to a stand still. Nice to see these gems back for a new generation of painters.

Are the 18th century 54mm figures available as well Paul? last time I looked at this website a year or so ago it seemed quite dead, it would be good to know that all of the items shown are actually available as I like the mid 18th century range.

It is indeed. A wonderful figure. I still have one in my GA (which is nuts to have something so long really) and this post will prompt me to sell it I think. If it hasn't gotten to the "top pile" yet I'm not sure that it ever will! :)

That is great news!
I bought tons of pictures from Cyrille, his 54mm are a 60mm really, beautifully sculpted French infantry 1765 and Napoleonics.
I wish he would dedicate more time to the figure makimg as this is a side gig for him.
Cheers!

Yes some of them are, as well as the royal and imperial couples.

Hi Ron,
I have seen Charles Conrad’s mtd French General and Cuirassier Officer in the flesh and they are beautifully detailed,
Perhaps not as good as today’s resin figs from Russia and the Far East, but they have that soldierly panache that comes from having been there yourself and the Conrad’s are Guard Republicaine to their boots.
A bonus with Charles work are his beautiful pedigree horses for the officers.

The horses do look nice , but heck 90mm going on to 110 mm is a big metal horse to paint
