Hi Guys

I just thought I would show you something I finished a couple of weeks ago for the Welling model show, where i was lucky enough to take a second place against some very hard competition.
Please let me know what you think

Dave

Excellent work Dave. This is one of my favorite figures sculpted by Jullian Hullis. I have done 2 of them and have another on the shelf.

This is great Dave, well done. I really like the expression you've captured on the face, and also the different tones of the coat, sash and the case his bow is in. This figure is definitely on my wish list..

Dave...this is really a beautiful and classic little figure and you've made such a great job of the painting....if there's one lesson I've learned since being here on the planet is that a picture can never really show us the same subtleties and transitions that can be enjoyed in real life.

It's a real gem mate.

Roy.

Smashing paint job, I was lucky enough to see this in the flesh so to speak at the Welling show, and as Roy says you can never appreciate the subtlety of the painting in a photo. Excellent work Dave well done mate.

Dave as Roy rightly says, sometimes photography can take a little something away from a figure. That's certainly the case this time, as this figure is better in the flesh.
Skintones are great and very convincing in terms of the ethnicity of the subject.
Love the treatment of the coat as well. Well done mate, this sets a great example.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, they are very much appreciated. I loved the look of this figure from the first time I saw it, its such a joy to paint, one of the best from Julian Hullis

Thanks

Dave
