Thanks for the feedback guys, thats very interesting. How do the recommended highlights and shadows compliment each other? Can they actually be used "straight" from the bottle as Andrea suggest, or did you find that a little mixing was still required to get the best result? I've never used a set like this myself, having always mixed my own colours.

The pic I posted one the first page of this thread (the trousers) is the result of using the set only and following the inclued instructions. The shirt is the same but with Vallajo Off-white as a final highlight.

yes Jon I have, I believe Dave is correct in what he is saying they are more a blue black. This isn`t a problem for me because like you I am new to painting in this scale and was very happy with the results . If I have time tomorrow I'll upload a photo of my greek mercenary cloack. I do have the white set but are yet to use it.

Dave - Thanks for the tip and the feedback on the blue set.

Colin - thats a nice photo, it gives a great effect. I think I'll give the set a go too.

James - Thanks for your thoughts on the balck set also. If you have a photo to share that would be great. I too am hoping to get that Greek figure. It's a wonderful sculpt.

there you go mate four different photo's some under no light and some under day (can't get my light out as work time is nearing). It is a great sculptor and fixs perfectly together. I haven't had a lot of time to work on it but I think the black looks fine, I think I'll be working on it a bit more as my skills improve.
