Thanks very much for the compliments. The Model is from Jaguar. It is supposed to be of Capt. Miller from Saving Private Ryan. I am not sure if the figure is available anymore.
The model is base coated with Tamiya acrylics- OD Green, Khaki Drab, Khaki. I varied the colors to get the approximate shades of the uniforms. Thsi was done with an Aztek airbrush with a Tan tip (fine). Then Lighter and darker shades of the base colors were mixed to use as shadows and highlights. This mix of paint is very thin- lots of Tamiya thinner. Once I mix a color, I keep it in a film canister so if I need it later, I have it premixed.
Then, using either the Tamiya paint or Vallejo's, I used a brush to work on the shadows and highlights, and midtones. Standard stuff here- using glazes and thin applications as described by Mario Fuentes in his articles. I used to use Humbrols, but I like the acrylics for speed of use. So if your thing is enamels, follow Bill Horan's techniques.
Thanks!!
Matt
