I must admit sadly when I was younger and in school I was not very interested in history of any type . But since I have been on this forum I realize I am watching shows about all types of history and becoming more and more interested in certain periods and topics . Even slowly changing the pieces I am interested in buying .and for that I thank this forum and everyone that participate here its more than just a forum.(y)

So true Samson!

When I got into figures, all I was into was modern military, Vietnam through to recent stuff, no way would I stray into anything else, apart from the odd WW2 figure. Now after painting a couple of Knights, I am watching shows and documentary's on them that I would never have dreamed of a few years ago!...I have developed a real interest in it.

I have also branched out into Native American and American Civil War as well, so I never know where my interests are going to go, and its all due to my interest in figures and the work I see on this site, and one or two others.

Cheer's,
Jeff.

Hey Jeff,
It's good that our interests are broadened by the forum.

I have just finished sculpting an Armoured Sioux Zouave gentleman from the 'Big Red one' .
I bet this is your perfect figure.

Paul

I have others.....
I'm not a weirdo.....
well I'm happy,
I still dress as Napoleon to see my Doc.....
(keeps him guessing).
I'm working on some more:-

Guards armoured division elephant crossing the dutch alps.

Swiss coastguard signifer, from the war of Jenkins Ear.

Samurai conqistadore commander U120.

Roman Engineer, EOD specialist.

;):) Paul.

As you said Samson, i learned more about history painting miniatures than at class. The problem is always teach dates and names. The fun part, tactics of Cesar, Wellington was a bad stratega but Napoleon illness and the weather helped him, Hannibal was in Italy various years fighting Rome, for example, no teacher speak about.

Being and ex puddlesplasher (infantry) I was always painting WWII or modern figures. I'm now into French Napoleonic's, French indian war, AWI, ACW and a bit of fantasy (Ask the wife).
This forum has opened a whole new world to me. Thanks.
