Our February release is the second in our Officially Licensed Howard David Johnson line, Fairy Queen Medb of the Sidhe. This set has been masterfully sculpted by Sebastian Archer in 32mm and cast in white metal. This boxed set includes: Medb, her brazier, two fairies and a round plastic base.

As a long time fan of HDJ's art, I'm delighted that the two licensed figures released so far look absolutely magnificent - they really do, no doubt about that whatsoever. However, I simply can't get my head around the decision to manufacture them in what's essentially one of the popular wargaming scales. If these miniatures were to be offered in 54mm, 75mm, or 90mm, then I would be all over them, but unfortunately for me I simply don't do 32mm, I'm (mainly) 54mm.
Sure, you just need to look at some of the stunning 28mm~32mm work on CMON to see how well these first two HDJ figures could be finished, but can I please request that Morland consider releasing exactly the same sculpts upsized to one of the more common miniature figurine scales that are more suited for "display purposes". Personally speaking 54mm would be fine, but in 75mm, or (more preferably) 90mm, and done by a better painter than I am, the results would be completely mind-blowing.

Thanks
H

When we licensed the artwork, we wanted to have lovely display models that would appeal to the smaller display painters as well as the larger. All of our licensed art will be released in two scales, 32mm and one of the larger (54mm is our choice so far). I want to see the larger scale versions too, but I want them to look just as awesome as the smaller versions. It has been harder to find 54mm and up sculptors to do the artwork justice. Because of that the 54mm releases will be slower and further down the road.

Hi Maya,

Thanks for the detailed response. That's excellent news concerning the possibility of an HDJ range in a larger scale.
Please refer to the conversation I've just opened (think these used to be called PM's).

Best Regards
Harry
