A Fixture
hi guys, my first attempt at a mounted figure. It is a pheonix 75mm chasseur a cheval painted in acrylics.
Thanks chris, i was lucky with the pelisse, i managed to paint it correct on the first attempt so it did not get the usual dettol bath!!Lovely job all round, especially the pelisse. Well done indeed.
Cheers mate, it was a challenge but it has relit the spark for my painting mojo to return. You wnt straight for the most difficult subject.Well done mate.

Thanks for the kind comment. I agree that the figure stands the test of time. Having seen your previous work i would say get the box out of thd grey army and treat it to your quality painting.A blast from the past. Well done. I agree that mounted figures are a.challenge, but they always look impressive when done.. The old Phoenix figures stand the test of time against the new generation kits. I painted this one as a gift for a friend many years ago and liked it so well that I bought another but it sits in my GGA patiently waiting to be rediscovered and finally painted.
Cheers for the kind comments del. I usrd the ak tufts and still have most of the sheet so i can fill out some more of the tufts.Well done for tackling and completing a mounted piece, something I've rarely managed to see through.
If you will allow one suggestion and it's simple. Lift a number of the grass clumps and re-site them hard against others to form less but larger random clumps. The current regulatory tends to draw the eye a bit.......we're primates and easily attracted to set 'patterns'
Nevertheless a very fine job.
Cheers
