Hi Tony

WELL DONE ...certainly didn't choose a easy subject , very colourful and nicely done ...and you did a leopard skin as well !

Great to see you posting this and look forward to seeing the next figure from you

Didn't realise Phoenix even released this ........wonder if there are other Napoleonics ?

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Nap
Thanks kev i picked the kit up a while ago and have only just plucked up courage to attempt it. It was a real challange but gave me the motivation to get painting again. It is the only pheonix napoleonic i have seen but i am going to look through my early military modelling mags to see if there was any others.
I painted the old guard grenadier from mitches ( formally ellies) at the same time and have posted him on the forum as well.
Keep safe
Tony

Nicely painted Tony.
I agree with Del regarding the grass.
I would apply the clumps first, and then the static grass.
That way you'll tend to get a better blend between the two.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks andrew, i really appreciate the kind comments and advice. It was my first attempt at doing my own scenic base so any pointers are very helpful for my next attempt.

Nice job Tony for your first mounted figure. Neat work on the pelisse lace and the leopard skin shabraque looks good. Like Nap I must admit I didn’t realise Phoenix did this kit. I’ve picked up a few old Roll Call and Almond kits recently and may have a scout around for this one.

Thanks neal
Its a really nice kit to build and the quality of thd casting was really good with just a few bits of cleaning up to do.
Good luck in your search for one.

Hi Tony good to talk to you the other night and glad to see you have your mojo back and in good form my friend. You did well to get hold of this kit mate let alone paint it. I had one a few years ago and bitterly regret selling it. There were from memory three figures in this series although I am not sure if the others were 54mm. I'll dig out my old Phoenix catalogue and let you know.

Take care and hope to catch up with you sometime this year,

Keith

Cheers keith, it was great speaking to you and looking forward to getting back to the club when we can. I cannot remember where i got the figure from, i think it was possibly sword and lance. I enjoyed painting it but it was a challengr.
See you soon mate.
Tony
