Is this a question of categories at a show?
I would say they are all mounted, even the standing fig with the horse as a horse is involved in the scene.

Colin

I'll have to disagree with you there Colin, standing next to a horse is dismounted.
Mounted is riding a horse, other animal or a bicycle/motorcycle.
I can see where your coming from but if it's for a show or competition I wouldn't risk it.

Roger.

What if he's got one foot in the stirrup, the other off the ground but not over... sorta mid-mount... what about then? Hmm? What then? I gotta know?
What do ya got to say about that Roger?
I'm so confused :wtf:

Nothing confusing about it Colin, both feet off the deck = mounted, one or both feet on the deck = dismounted.... so there you have it! :D

In response to Colin's question.
He would neither be mounted or dismounted he would be in the process of mounting. If getting off his horse he would be dismounting.Sorry about that Roger:),Just me having a pedantic moment.
Cheers
Ralph.

We are thick skinned, but early in the morning I'm as sensitive as a little girl... until I get my first coffee in me at least.
Almost finished my first large Tim Hortons... then off to the races
