It has been a lovely autumn day here, some sunshine and a pleasant temperature and we collected some elderberries(not really sure why, but my wife thought they may be useful!). On returning from our afternoon dog walking we decided to call in at a local hostelry for a pint, to round the afternoon off. Imagine my total disgust and disbelief on walking into the pub to be confronted with full Christmas decorations, complete with a massive tree!!

Now, I may be a miserable bugger, but I thought that Christmas was in December, NOT halfway through October....!!

Steve:grumpy:

and you thought your early.
The Xmas decorations are here since september.
At the moment you can buy "oliebollen" wich is originally for new years eve.

I don't like Christmas,but that's just how I am.
But I have to suffer it year in year out.
People I don't know put Christmas card's through the letterbox.
If it never happened again,I wouldn't miss it.
I have to compromise with my wife, the decorations(tree only) go up 2 days before and then down 2 days after.
Present's should be given out of love not because established thinking says we should.
Bah Humbug,yeah that's me.
I could go on and on but I won't.
All the best.
Ralph.

Your card's in the post, it's humbug shaped
Mwah :)
Pee ho ho

If it's any consolation, Ralph, you echo my thoughts, too! I'm not religious but the original concept of family all together has been sadly lost to gross commercialism.

Just my take on things!:(

Euromilitaire is the new Christmas.

And yes, kick the old one back into December where it belongs.

Don't know what sort of Christmas you miserable lot have? ;) I love everything about it, the whole family thing, the food, presents which we limit to £10 each and put a lot of thought into it, and surprises.....watching favourite DVD's. Best day for me is choosing and decorating the tree, worst day is taking it down and then I remember it'll soon be Christmas again(y)
I don't subscribe to the hype but would sooner see things as half full than half empty ....... anytime.
