Noticed the horse a few days ago Richard; looks like you've got a real talent there!

I wouldn't touch one if you paid me!

Hi All

Thought I'd post a couple of pics of the progress on this figure, would really like to hear opinions/constructive criticisms etc ....

Thanks

Richard

WOW Richard.......that standard is looking GREAT!!!!! I assume it was all done by hand? Absolutely beautiful

Richard, Neat standard. I love a lot of that 17-18th century Russian and Polish stuff, it's great. I'd love to see your bust when you get around to it.~Gary

Thanks Guy, yes done by hand look closely and you'll see all the mistakes.

I got into icon painting after seeing a fantastic boyar standard by Nikolai Nafitirev it was only later that I found out it was a transfer..... very disappointed I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to things like that.

Gary, Vsevelodovich is getting close to completion (sculpting part anyway) I'll post a pic when he's ready, one that I'm thinking about that might interest you is Jan Sobieski, found a good picture of him loads of Catholic imagery as opposed to Orthodox/Byzantine

Richard

Hey Richard!

Wow, I love the standard and the way its painted! I've tried painting things such as that a couple of times but it never seams to look right. The figure is very nicely done, keep us posted on your progress!
