Hard to believe this is 1:35th scale, Tamiya. . .

Hi James:

Wow, you're really doing a nice subtle job of painting this one. Yes, I saw
the box art, and I appreciate that, but it is still hard to believe
you're working in 1:35th scale. Really nice painting and shading.

I will make one suggestion however, now that you've added the weapon. In
my opinion, and it is only MY opinion, you understand from looking at these
pictures (my meaning here, is that if I was looking at the actual figure, I may
not notice the thickness of that strap). I feel that the weapon's sling is too
thick for that scale. I suggest you use lead foil for that job. Lots of places
sell lead foil. I even use the cork wrapping from a bottle of wine for this
job. Plus it is fun to empty the bottle! :D :D You can get lead foil from
Squadron Shop in Carrolton, TX and I'm sure there are other places that
sell it as well.

I am eager to see the progress of this figure. Are you going to replace the
Tamiya kit head? I usually do that and use the Hornet heads instead, as I
think the quality is so much better.

Fine job. . . maybe the Falls are your inspiration????

Thanks for the feedback!.

good tip for the gun sling. though I've glued that one on to his shoulder so I'm stuck with it now lol

not sure about the head, I'll have to check my local hobby shop i think they had some hornet heads. though the tamiya part looks nice. I'll take a pic later in primer.

the shading on the uniform is done with my airbrush in light coats of super thinned black and shades of green
