Hy everybody, i'm new to this hobby but i draw and paint everything since i was 10 years old, now i think it's the time to try to create my own stuff.

please watch the photo and give me some trick and tips or make me know where i made mistakes.

i have no idea when i start to sculpt so at the end i did a sort of orc or deamon or whatever you want =)

What do u think about my set of little head....
i'm trying to make them only with green stuff (kneadatite) in a 1/35 scale or lesser

Matteo, if you want to learn how to sculpt, you have come to the right place.

Here you will find master sculpters such as Stefano Borin from White Models, Kamil and Pawel from Pabelo Miniatures, just to name a few.
They will answer any of your questions, all you have to do is ask .

Good luck and never give up.

Cheers
Roc :)

Matteo...welcome to the planet..
I like your Orc/Troll head...sometimes it's a good idea to do some fantasy pieces to allow some freedom of expression when sculpting.
And the small scale heads look like they are showing a good improvement from left to right...you're certainly doing the right thing, just keep trying no matter what.
Looking forward to seeing some more pieces...go for it.!! ;)

All the best..Roy.

A really god start. I'm with Gary, practice makes perfect, then you practice some more and then some more...

happy sculpting
Joachim

ok, tnx for the help m8s =)

in the last few days i've tryied to do a complete miniature of an orc....

it's not finished yet and it has a lot of problems but i think it's not so bad =)

again i ask u to mark my error and to suggest any solution =)

the head was one of the head u've seen in the previous reply.
i have some problems in the shape of the arms

the legs are shorter than usually but it's what i want because i think the ogre body shape is similar to gorilla ones

maybe it has a lot of muscles (too much body building for an orc) but it's my first try and i love it anyways =)

Hi Matteo...it's your first full piece...so I don't think you have any problems...
Just keep on refining what you can see needs to be changed...the detail work is good and you will get to know your putty the more you use it...with a fantasy subject you have lots of room for change if you need it...
I think it's a great start..and the orc is ugly...that works for me.. :)

All the best...Roy.

Matteo, Given the scale of your piece, and the fact that it is your first, you've done well. Another thing that will aid you in improving your work is finding inspiration from not only other sculptors but artists of flat artwork. There is a lot to be learned from just observation.~Gary

Matteo - You have definitely come to the right place to learn the craft! Take a look at Gary's Sculpting 101 - If you don't learn a great deal PDQ, I'll...uh...eat my hat or something. :)

Boy is that orc an ugly sucker!

Seriously, you've made a very good start. Keep it up! Can you get Magicsculpt or Apoxie Sculpt? You may find that either one is easier to use than Duro or Milliput.

All the best,
Dan
