Hello everyone,
Maybe like you can see is NAP (Kev) making my grandfather in a bust.
https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/belgium-bravery.532868/

This was my biggest wish to have him here back with me in a miniature (Bust)

I must think always a lot about the stories he told me about the war , and glad he survived , he spend in the war from 1/12 1942 till 15/9/1944 ,then he was back home ,and go to the armed resistance till the
war was over.
His wife (my grandmother) was a nurse in the war,but she take care of the wounded soldiers att her home, here in Belgium the soldiers are more British and Canadian. They hide also British soldiers att there home most in de barn ,there was a lot of hay there.

They hide there and getting food from them and can sleep also, if the Germans came along they hide as fast they can ...the soldiers

I can tell so much about his stories but I wanna let you see a Original picture from 4 British soldiers
who where inside the house of my grandfather and grandmother.

Kind regards
Mario

Hi Kev,
Yes hé, also my grandfather have a pipe ore smoke a pipe, absolute it was very risking and my grandfather have encountered that ,because his best friend
have tell the Germans that he was in the resistance ,and in the evening the Germans went to his house and arrested him with 4 other man who where also
with the resistance.

They will be all executed the next day ,but my grandmother got save the life of the mayor his wife, and the mayor was going to the Germans officer and say
they must not shoot him,and so have the mayor save his life, but unfortunately his other 4 friends where shot and died,he cry a lot and they say to him who
went to the Germans to rapport him and so one day att night he leave the house and he killed that person,

As a Dutchman, I very much understand your family's perils during the war. The Belgians are often overlooked, but they were a vital, and equally brave, part of the lifeline to get pilots shot down over Holland or Belgium, back to England, via the hazourdous journey via Holland, Belgium, France and either Switzerland or Spain. To have a family member so closely associated with the resistance must be a great source of pride. The figure that Kev, and Jim, are making for you, is a fitting tribute, and non better to do it.

These are fascinating stories about real people. I thank you guys for posting these. I really find these stories of family history very interesting and historical. I was stationed in Northern Italy and got to visit families and hear stories similar from the old people when they heard I was interested in history. We had some good food, and talked about their history and they remembered the Americans too. My barracks building at Aviano actually had Nazi Mason marks on the cornerstones. Lol.

Always when I see my grandfather he talked about the war ,and I say honestly that he sometimes was crying, because he say to me
