I've now been a member of planet figure for 6 years and in that time I've been lucky enough to meet some great painters and modellers who I can also call great friends, however despite all the great painters I've been lucky enough to meet and talk to there is one painter that has really inspired me over the last 4 years with his bust work.
When I first saw the work of this great artist I was completely blown away by his skill with a brush and not only was his pieces painted so well, they looked like they'd seen battle or been on campaign which is something I love in his work, his skill with combining weathering with his great painting has really inspired me and I'd like to take this opportunity to share some of this mans great work with my fellow planeteers.
The artist is Ernesto Reyes.

Yes Brian, I also love looking at Ernesto's work whenever he posts it!

Simply breathtaking paintwork!

Its the type of work, that, if you are in a bit of a rut, and dont feel very motivated, can bring you right out of it and renew your interest one hundred percent.

Cheer's,
Jeff.

Totally agree with that statement Jeff, his work is very inspiring, hopefully I hope to meet Ernesto one day :)

Wow! Ernesto has managed to breathe LIFE into every face. You look at them and just know they are all tough men of action who've endured. In some of the faces you can see calculation, in some fear, in some readiness to bring the fight to the other guy, in some steadiness and calm in the face of grave danger.

If Ernesto isn't the best at achieving this consistently, I don't know who is.

All the best,
Dan

Hi Dan
Thanks for your kind words mate, for me he is he best mate,I don't know of another painter that brings all those qualities into a single piece

He's one of my favourites Brian.I nearly bought one of his figures from him,as his figures and busts are well priced.I know that Ernesto would love to come over to Euro, but unfortunately, because of the state of affairs in Venezuala, where he lives, this might never happen. What a loss!!!!

That's such a shame Brian,I can imagine what sort of money his work would go for,Stu is very lucky to have him painting his pieces at Stormtroopers :)
