This is the British Private 1757 from Master Class. I am on a run of figures sculpted by Alan Ball. I like the smaller scale as there is so much more to choose from. This was also my experiment with Vallejo acrylics. I think I will stick to acrylics for the smaller figures and oils for the larger scales. Any comments are welcome

Hi Paul,
This one looks good too. I like the detailing you did on his coat. And from what I can see of it, I really like the look you achieved on his canteen too.
Nice to see some work from you again. :)

Thanks Craig,

it feels good to be productive again. Here is another shot I took of the back of the figure. I am happywith the way the canteen and equipment came out also. The shadow on the leather is a little too stark so I am going to tone that down, although it's not as dark in real life as it is in this picture.

If I can get to the club meeting next month, I'll bring these guys along.

Paul, Nice job on the figure. I live just a few hours north of you in Erie, Pa.~Gary
Hi Gary,

Thanks for the compliment. Mongo Mel and I are both a few hours south of you. My primary interest is in French and Indian Wars period. I have an Indian I want to paint soon that appears in Robert Griffings paining "Triumphant Return to Fort Duquesne".

Paul,

I am fairly new to figure painting (about 4 months) and can say I am inspired by your work. It encourages me to keep going. Your lines are crisp and your shading is impressive.

Kyle
