Hey guys-

just wanted to post up these pics. It's been a while since I have been able to put anything up, with my wife and kiddo and I moving into our first house here pretty soon, things have been crazy.

But here's at least a couple. Bear with me, they are not good pics, just a quick ( slightly blurry ) couple of snapshots just to show the composition of the project. The soldier is taking a picture of the statue, and the kid is peeking from behind it at what the soldier is doing; the old man is walking by and observing the strange sight. Anyway, just wanted to throw these up here for the sake of showing how it's all progressed. More ( good ) shots soon, hopefully once the move is completed and some painting can really began. Thanks for any comments guys.

Cheers,
Stephen

hey man....the vignette is based on a picture I took in Nasariya, Iraq in the summer of 2003. the vignette is basically a third-person view of what the scene looked like. the US military policeman photographing the statue is, well, me.

Thanks for the congrats on the house, by the way. we are pretty excited......I'm also excited that I finally get my own room just for modelling! Cheers buddy...

Where's your head? Looks pretty cool.. Can't wait to see it painted up.... Are you going to treat the wood block with some kind of texture?

hey man. hah yeah the head is separate right now, I posted a pic of it with just the face mostly finished a while back....the statue is just on a painting handle, BTW. the real thing has a lot more bulk and angles to it and its being finished up right now.

thanks for the good comments man, I appreciate it. ill have more stuff posted as it all progresses.
cheers,
Stephen
