Folks, I made these nameplates for my completed AWI figs and wanted your opinions. I had been doing just black backgrounds. Thought about dark red for British and dark blue for continentals...

Too busy? Detracts from the figs?

Thanks guys,

Bob-

I print them out on glossy paper from a power point program. Add heavy stock paper (like photo memory books paper) as a second layer and cut with a small paper slicer. Then tape them with paper craft double stick permanent tape.

The background (flag) image I edited to "darken" in a photo program.

Looking very effective to me, well done.

For years I tended to use rather standard, read bland, backgrounds with only a border in the national colors. Lately I've switched to backgrounds of a map or flag relevant to the figure/bust depicted, maybe less readable but to me a lot more interesting as it gives your figure/bust a place in time and location.

cheers,
Pierre
