Hello,

I'm actually painting the Metal Modeles Napoleon on horse.

Its my first attemp to paint a horse.

Napoleon is finished.

The colors I used for the painting : Blue, Red, Yellow, black and white only. (Acrylic paint)
Metalic parts are with ink and oils.

The horse is only in the beginning of the painting :

Fabulous artistry and the horse hair effects are extremely realistic. This will look tremendous when finished!

Are you yanking my chain :) first attempt at a horse and you pick a grey (y) this looks very stylist indeed and nap looks good also .

Ron

Amazing work on the horse. Wanna now more about the technique you used on this.
Napoleon is great. I should highlight the gold braid on the shoulders more.

Marc

I see natural artistic talent shining through here, great work on Napoleon with such a limited palette and that Horse is going to look great when it is finished-looking forward to seeing more

Keith

Did you hear that?

That's the sound of my jaw hitting the floor!:woot:
That is very impressive work, the closeup of the horse's face looks like a pic of a real horse. The eyes are just about perfect!

Will be following this to its' completion

Colin

At these first steps in the horse I see avery impressionistic style. I think the figure of napoleon is perfect, don´t need changes..I folow

Thx a lot.

For my first horse, I want to do something that looks like the painted horses I see on canvas.
I dont know if it will be as good finished as it is now ;)

The horse is also painted with only Blue, red and Yellow. And black and white.

Thx a lot.

I hope you're right and it will look good when finished.

I already know that it takes very long time to paint a horse that way..... I dont know if I'll do it that way again on the next horse....

As I wrote earlier, I paint the horse also with the same colors that I painted Napoleon (Blue, Red, Yellow, white and black)

Yes I will highlight the gold braid on the shoulders. I just wait it dries before. Its painted with ink and oil.

For the horse nothing particular.
I start from black undercoat.
Then I paint from deepest shadow to final highlights.... start with big brush... and then smaller and smaller as you highlight.... the finals highlights are simulating hair....

I hate to think what you will be turning out if you get more paints for Xmas:LOL::LOL: Can't wait to see this horse finished

Keith
