Hello everybody,

I just finished my very first flat figure. It's a 30 mm Segom casting after David. Hope you like. Comments are welcome.

Hi Mark

Very well done for a first try, I wish my first flat, to come out like that, I have yet to paint one...

For a first crack, that's an excellent piece. I've seen this one myself, but I bottled out and I've still yet to do a flat. Very well done.

Hallo Mark,
Conny ;)

That's a lovely bit of painting for your first flat Mark...especially in this tiny scale..
Great to see an increasing interest in flats on the planet...
Lovely job.

Roy.

That is great work Mark.
I'd like to see what it looks like on a black (velvet?) background.

Thank you all for your kind comments!

I really enjoyed painting a flat and I was happy to have pictures of the original painting as some kind of reference for light and shadow. It's really a different experience to painting round figure. I'm planning to put the figure into a small frame in front of a landscape background (like the original). I've seen a figure by Greg DiFranco rendered like that. But my ability to paint a background is quite limited, so I will show the results when finished.

Best wishes

Mark
