In the spirit of this forum, I would offer the following comments:
From the images, there is little variation of color. The hat is all black. The coat is all grey. The face lacks differing skin tones.
The style is clean, and well done, but there is . . . something missing, visually, that should hold my eye.
I have seen other versions that showcased more color variation, and thus were more pleasing, to me.
The hat wouldn't be all one color - the edge looks different from the vertical planes, and the sun and weather would discolor the horizontal areas. The shoulders of the coat would look different from the lapels. The nose would be redder than the jawline, and some whisker shadow would add character. Every color seems to have the same value.
If the color variation has been diminished in the photography process, then please disregard my remarks.
Don
