I need help with a Verlinden tambour du genie imperial guard drummer that I'm working on. I wasn't happy with the moulded string/rope (used to tension the drum). So I removed them. I plan to use wire to replace them, but I don't have any good pictures of a drum showing how the string/ropes were tied near the bottom.
There is a rope that goes around the base of the drum that the carrying straps are attact to. And it appears that the tension ropes are also tied to it before they go through the holes in the bottom rim. But I can't tell by the pics I have if that's true. And if they are tied to it I don't know how they are tied.
Can anyone help?
Hopefully the attached pic will explain what I mean. The red circles are the areas of concern.
Many thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Barry,
When Napoleon calls, I am. Here I put two drums, one reprised from Rousselot's table, anothe one in real photo. I think they are enough clear to copy cords. For your drummer, forget the tricolour triangles, the bands on the top and the bottom of your drum were simply blue.
Best regards
Marcello
