I will not enter the controversy, but it is true that the purpose of the forum is to show future models soon available.
We can hope that showing this figurine is a last chance left to this craftsman.
If writing this post is done for that, it suits me, everyone is entitled to an error.
But not two!

I take your point on making an error but if you think this has happen once in the past you are much mistaken

Tommi

Hi everyone

Appreciate the comments especially Joanna ....I am certainly not team Ellie ...this was posted as a new forthcoming figure release for members to see ...nothing more .

Everyone knows the aweful fiasco of the Dance ..my hope is lessons have been learnt and anyone who does order this if it's actually released do get their kit .

None of this answers any of my previous question!!!!

It was never my intention to air my dirty washing in public, but I now feel something needs to be said.
Mick’s Mick’s was an idea I had kicking about in my head for a number of years. In the winter of 2016/17. I decided that I would look into it more, so contacted Ian at Ellies who in all fairness gave me all the information I requested. He told me to think about it and if I decided to run with it invited me up to Leeds to meet the team & crunch some numbers.

From the initial meeting where he lied about making all his own molds & doing his own casting. In the 6 / 8 mths I was with him I lost count of the number of lies and half truths I was told. I was continually having to chase him for monies owed to the extent it got embarrassing. I was contacted by a creditor wanting payment for work done although the money had already been paid to Ellies and he had not passed it on. I lost count & track of the number of kits that were lost in the post which is hard to believe in a range of 6 busts.
I will not enter in to the Dance of Death fiasco as hopefully Danced the last Dance.

But the thing that hurts the most out of all this is the fact that people out there new his track record and didn’t give me the heads up.
You have been warned

So in answer to your post Zastrow how many errors as you put it should a person have.

Mick

I was not aware of all these facts.
My opinion after several post of several person (especially on this case) is that unfortunately there is in our middle (the figurine) some black sheep.
I never had to complain about Ellie's, I'm one of the few to get the death dance.
But, the purpose of our forum is to inform.
And not only on the news but also on the problems.
The difficulty lies only in the fact that the administrators of this forum and the forum itself should not be incriminated in case of unfair defamation.
On the other hand, black sheep must be excluded because this forum is a great and free advertising space for their brand.
The trust placed in this forum is tainted by the behavior of some.
Planet Figure, is the reference forum for the whole world.
To maintain this, a heavy task is waiting for the administrators.
But they must rely on members who must prevent (by PM) the inadmissible behavior of some.
The administrators will then have to become judges, and make sometimes heavy decisions.
But that's the price to pay.

Hi Guys

Firstly THANK YOU to all that commented here particularly those who have been badly affected by what's happened in the past ....apparently still not fully solved which is not good to say the least .

It is my thought that:

No matter what's released by the individual the past will not be forgotten

Sculptors /casters will be very wary of being associated

An incident like this stains the hobby as bad as recasting

Thank you to Mick for the information ...not good to say the least and I understand his anger

He is correct ...sometimes difficult decisions sometimes wrong ( as I have found out in the past ). ......moderators cannot see every thread/post and we rely on members

I will let this thread run for 2 more days till 10:00 BST 12/12 to allow any further comments and then I will consider locking it

Feel free to PM me on any matter

Happy benchtime to everyone

Locking yet another thread on this on going saga will only instigate things further and new threads opening, it should be left open to run its course so people can have their say and know the truth.

Amongst all of this Ian has not bothered to post himself here on PF although he is quite active on Facebook and trading at a show the weekend despite ignoring emails and messages from unhappy customers.

There is also the stream of pathetic excuses of why he cant be contacted or has not sent items, I have heard them all and he thinks people belive him! His antics have caused a lot of personal grief to me and my family getting dragged into BS situation. Wish I had never had any dealings with him.

Very disappointed that someone else has had to post this new piece here on the forum as obviously he is to much of a coward to do it himself.

Good luck to anyone who orders this piece from the Ian Burton supporters club. Make sure you dont pay via friend and family paypal as you will never get your money back.

Tommi, I understand your anger, you have been and you are one of the pillars of this community.
The only thing I would dare to ask you is to stay that way.
Despite your anger, what you represent is important.
As a PF member with a bit of influence, even if it's just a forum, let's keep it, and most importantly, be proud of it.

Hi Guys

Thanks for responses

Tommi

Appreciate your comments ......Sorry you are dissapointed I posted a new release , I did it purely to show a new release ....I won't be doing it again .

My thread should have read "consider locking" ..I have changed it

Ian has done himself no favours by what's happened for sure ......so much " so called" sorted ......obviously not

100% agree with ZC's comments..like him I understand your anger , you represent a very well respected member of the hobby ...someone Ho has been burnt badly in this whole sad saga

Seasons greeting to very one

There are a couple of you who may know of my own small personal involvement with Mr. Burton, and I have only my naivety to blame. I'm tempted to quote Eli Wallach in "The Magnificent Seven"......".Generosity, that was my first mistake". No more. Beware the anger of a patient man.

I can't press the like button because I'm sure there is nothing to like about your story. "One Day mate."
The man should be seen for what he is.

Can I assume...even though it is a cracking figure even though it is missing a horse..... that this figure is not going to appear complete and finished on PF

????

Hi Malc

If a member purchases it then this is a figure modelling forum so it would be welcome as a WIP and finished piece ......so many regimental versions available to think about as well

Hi Nap

I was referring to the unreliability of supply. If I could get one I would put it on PF.

reading all the above makes me assume it may be hard to get one.

You never know your luck Malc.... But will he post it up here himself? doubt it as someone else will be naive enough to do it for him.
