How about Raw Umber + Paynes Gray + Tit White?

I am not a big WW2 figure painter. But, this is a tried and true med gray for me.

Mike,
Try sending an email to Pete Herrera from here...he is an expert on WWII german stuff, and am sure he can get you the mix you need...

All the best

Call me crazy, but try 1 part Davy's Gray + 3-4 parts Naples Yellow. Highlight by adding a bit more Naples Yellow and/or Titanium White, shade with Davy's Gray.

Here's a card with the resulting mix. The colors appear darker in the picture, and the mix does have a sort of greenish tint to it (chalk this up to my crappy photo skills).

Hope this helps ...

I know I'm going to get a lecture on the chemical composition of paint pigments for this response but .... yes, Naples Yellow Hue is the same color as Naples Yellow. If I'm not mistaken, "hue" pigments are synthetic versions of the "natural" pigments. Regardless, they look the same to me ;)

HTH ...
