I just bought this figure on sale and I need some reference material.
I want to know the background on this figure. I want to have options
on color also.. rather than just copy the box art.
I have never done armor before.. so maybe the box art is the way
to go ?

Its a Aitna Model figure of Lorenzo Acciaiuoli 1350

Can anyone direct me.
I did look on the internet and did not find much at all.

I just want to start a file on it so when I am ready to paint
I have what I need.

Thank you
Dee

Hope this helps and will look for more.

Dee,
The vine work or acanthus leaf designs on the grieves, knee cops and breastplate are tooled and embossed leather. It is based upon a 14th. c. italian sculpture. This is cuir boullli (boiled leather). Period accounts show the decoration being painted or gilded. It is not sure if this is a regular battlefield piece of armor or something used in tournament. The cuisses are plates covered in leather, or fabric or again, decorated cuir boulli.

Hey Guy,

I was thinking about using Google.. like we talked about before.
The first one you have on here is the box art I have.
The second one is good also.
So thank you...

Mike.... this is great information you have given me. It gives
me a place to start. Thank you so much.

Dee
