Adriano is preparing a new Roman to go along with the two previous figures of the Varus battle.

To preorder it write to [email protected] or contact Adriano on messanger.

It's a figure in preparation but will only be released in limited numbers.

Having taken delivery this week of the other 2 figures in the 9AD series, they are typical Adriano pieces - i.e. superb historically correct details, sculpt and cast. They don't come in colour boxes or anything but what's in the plain packaging needs no fancy box art 'incentive' to get painting.

Order already placed for this latest piece and I hope he expands the range to make a bigger set piece series of the Teutorburg disaster.

I'm looking forward to adding this to the other figures in this series, too. I would also like to know more about the reference for this figure. As it depicts a Tribune who would most likely carry some weapons and armor handed down through the family coupled with them using whatever they fancied unlike an ordinary legionary, I guess a good bit of room for speculation exists. Mr. Laruccia seems to have frequently used sculptural refrences in the past and is quite an authority on the subject, so I trust this figure will be as accurate as possible.

Excellent point made by Scott. Adriano called the subject laticlavian tribune aka tribunus laticlavius. From what I’ve read these positions were given to very young men based on their birth into an aristocratic family. So it seems their equipment would not be part of the normal state issued kit of the ordinary legionnaire.
