I have a better bust of Steiner, sculpted by Rene Duret.
Search for Steiner you find him. That is a real character sculpt from Steiner......
Sorry to highjack this, but the likeness is good, but not that what Rene did.

Disagree Marc. This is AMAZING.

With all respect to Rene's nice sculpture I should say that we can not compare these two busts.

Amazing new release from Alexandros - amazing likeness with the actor, emotional face and feeling of movement! Just great!

I like this one too from Ebroin. Very keen eye for the details.
I remember me checking out his features when I did mine, confessing this was one of my 'earlier' works, numerous photos collected on the net.
I was dazzled of the idea to dress him fully and thought, maybe do this in stages. I didn't and went on with other works.
The 'Battle Steiner' is the best rendition of this role in, what's mine opinion, is one of the best war movies...

there is a lot of battlefatigueness to be noticed in Steiner and this is an extra challenge when studying him. This one Ebroin did rocks and I can even tell which photo was used as reference :)
I love the way Ebroin did the anatomics and I'm fond of the hair sculpted.

the volumes and fabrics are well measured and a Steiner withouth ppsh is no Steiner.

I was intriged at that time by this one single scene in the hospital with the nurse and wanted to pick out this particular scene to stress out his lonelyness.

James Coburn will always remain a very grateful subject to sculpt.

this one was used for anatomics and posure, I suppose.
The other features, which are performed accurately, like the important cross which what it's all about,..needs to be shown but not to be seen in this picture attached.

again, good work.
and well painted!

René
