So what do you all think the Unterscharfuehrer (with the machine pistol) is going to signal in the next second? That hand position (depending on how he now moves his hand) could mean any of "prepare to move", "go faster", "go slower", "halt", "sit down", "lie down", "form up in line of march", "prepare for next planned action", "sub-unit leaders form on me" or "I acknowledge previously issued order"
