Hi Guys

Good to see another release from Sarnia ........perhaps not the ideal formation to depict but offers conversion potential to other arms ..like the Luftwaffe , Naval or maybe an ambassador

Would have liked some chest badges perhaps

It might be the position but he looks a little podgy in the lower part ....but I am no sculptor !!

Sarnia's release possibly might have a limited market as Steve says but it's good to see something not in combat uniform

With the Channel Islands having some deeper history with Germany,I suppose the German army still has some interest for them .
I am at a loss as to why most models of the military in general, seem to be of the German army during WW2,and less attention given to the others in Europe.More swagger on the outfits,perhaps......o_O

I think this bust has potential for the discerning modeller.Definately lends itself for conversion to other arms of the German forces. It seems that ww2 Germans are popular i guess due to the parade ground look of the uniforms, awards and devorations and collar litzen which adds colour.A different look to combat uniforms and ss smocks etc.I like what Peters made.Hes on a roll with a whole different range of busts of subjects not done before.
Carry on that chap.
Mookies.

Got to be honest, I think this one will have limited appeal.

Hope you are well Steve.

I agree mate but as painters, we are always saying "Oh no, why are 'X' doing ANOTHER Roman/Celt/Crusader"...(insert usual suspect) and then when someone does do something totally outfield we then say "Who will buy this ?"

I think companies and sculptors must pull their hair out trying to find something 'different' AND commercial these days !

Hi Guys

Thanks for the varied comments.

This is the first German bust that I have done and since WW2 German seem to be the most popular genre I decided that I should include at least one German bust in my range. I think 1 in 12 is not too many and gives a bredth to the range. Having decided to include a German WW2 I thought a non-combat uniform would be not so run-of-the-mill. The reason for SS rather than another service was the chance to add a little colour with the red armband.

I am currently researching British Army Mess Dress uniforms with the idea of producing a mini-series of busts.
