I must say that this is one of the most un-attractive figures that I have ever seen, looks like ideas taken from other figures, such as the marine from Pegaso that happens to be one of the best modern figures currently on the market, and the spoon in the pocket idea, coming from Young's WWII marine bust.
The painting is way to monotone and boring.

but when I saw the pegaso figure ( in september!!!) I knew that one will show me to copy it!!!!... I had the same idea that pegaso but I'm less good

Harry, I contacted a french reenactor, and he said to me that "it's ok", I'm not a "nam" specialist but I think (or I hop) that the reenactor is a specialist ???

I never saw to many soldiers in VN. A few here and there as we were in the AOR of the 1st Mar Div. in I Corps. Can't say if they wore the M1955 vest or not. I did see a few Marines wearing the "Army style" as we called it. It was much more comfortable.

Good to see more Vietnam figures within the hobby, a very under represented period which deserves more acknowledgement.

My take on it. A m1955 on an army guy, I don't know about. Never seen it. The vest looks a little odd because the individual armor plates that are the standout feature of the vest, aren't represented, at least not very prominently. They are usually very apparent due to edge wear. I guess that could be do to how its painted, I can't tell that well. The scale is odd, so it won't go with 54mm or 75 mm figs, two standard scales. I don't do anything smaller than 120mm, but I think 70mm is fairly odd for a modern figure (?). Lastly, if i were doing it, I would definitely replace the head, but being the odd scale, whats out there? Adding some indentations and painting it to represent the armor plates more prominently would be no problem, and removing the unit patch and calling him a Marine instead of 1st infantry takes care of any question about the vest usage. But the head would be a no go for me. As far as painting goes, well, thats up to the individual to achieve better results, isn't it? Other than the head, I think it's really well sculpted, just need to work out the details a little.

Dans l'ensemble, c'est une assez belle figurine et puis tu as le mérite de l'avoir créée de A à Z, ce qui n'est pas rien!
Tu pourrais peut-être rattraper le coup en sortant une autre tête!

well i would say do not loose an thought on this chap Panzer Mrosko.which seems to be very frustrated.i am an friend of clear words myself.but i see no point why one shall not choose an stance others did too.problem is on commercial figures one is fixed to some easier to cast positions.
if this "gentleman" has an bad day he should search for an brawl in an bar and not cause trouble here.
have no idea but nearly all i did read from this mrosko chap is in this aggresive and unfriendly attitude.
seems that his days as warrior figure hotshot are over and this seems to have left traces......
i would be happy to be able to sculpt that way.i was not to keen on your german bust but this is really not too bad.i have no idea if all uniform details are rendered correct but i like the figure you show here

Mr Greg i am sure your figures will get better with every sculpt you do, its important to stay positive and focused even if the critique is a bit harsh, enjoy what you do and there are many who have posted positive words on your Vietnam figure.

Maybe a good idea would be to sculpt your figures to one of the standard scales or sizes, if you use a scale chart you will ensure your figure remain consistent throughout the range, you want to try and make sure all your future figures keep to the same scale or size so they can be compatible with each other.
