Here is another of the latest s from the Figures @ MDC range by Model Design Construction :


Subject : Sqn Leader from the 2nd TAF (1945)

Scale : approx 1/32nd about 54mm in height

Material : Resin

Sculptor : Steve Bearpark

The model arrived packaged in a very sturdy semi hard clear plastic box with the figure wrapped in additional shredded paper to prevent damage in shipping .

The model consists of a single casting of the actual figure and a simple round base , cast in grey resin with minimal flash to clean up before priming.

The pose is relaxed with his hands in his pockets wearing a side cap together with flying boots with a pistol in a holster on his belt .

Looking at the actual sculpting detail is good with some nice folds on the uniform although perhaps the uniforms doen't have the lok and weight of battledress , the pistol lanyard looks slightly overscale but can be reduced down no doubt , the uniform has all the seam lines included with the subject having curly hair (short I hasten to add !!) , facial expression is also of note but the head seems a little small and short in the neck .

Although the subect says a 2nd T A F figure , I am sure this could be used as a LRDG subject as well so there are other options available if you wish .

Overall impression:
A nice subject , with a little work required before actual priming , good packing materials used with great customer service from MDC.

Somehow I have recently gotten back into collecting and modelling aviation subject and have been picking up 54mm RAF subjects, so I guess I will be getting this one some time in the future. Thank you for posting.
