Crusader Doom Mirmillone

Oh great, another pseudo-historical crusader to delight the fans. And a static gladiator, never seen one of those before... and with weakly-sculpted legs, as usual!

The Doom figure is an interesting subject to do given how many years it's been since the film, and that there's a new one just about to be released. It's sure to be a violation of copyright, just like all the similar figs from Andrea.

I find it odd that you rarely if ever hear anything said to manufacturers that clearly violate copyright laws by producing a figure from a move, comic, etc without a license. But people will rush to the aid of the company if someone were to try and sell recasts of this type of figure online. Not trying to stir the pot, it's just a thought. ~Gary

Since you have stirred, can you enlighten us on the copyright?

the bust is nice.but strange is why he is so buttoned up.shall an bust not be an study of the head and face in first aspects???
i think here the face painting possiblities are reduced somehwhat.
cheers

hi i like the new pegaso figuers !!. i think are excellent !!. and i think the sculpted of the the figuers are excellent too.outstanding quality for the money !! thank you luca marcbetti for all the pegaso figuers !!. ok speak to you soon raty.

"Thulsa Doom is great!"

Yes it is, since it actually looks like J.E.J although the box art painting is a bit harsh IMO.

It is widely know Pegaso is testing how high their prices are. Having not bought from them for a whole year and then two 1/10 fantasy girls in one go, I opened the boxes only to find myself emotionally mixed. I hope there is more finess where the mould closes.

Hey Gordy,

I think what Gary is saying, I may be wrong, is that we have no problem, I mean figure buyers, buying a figure from a company like Andera or The Tulsa Doom from Pegaso, who from most likely hoods have not paid the movie companies a $$ amount for using their likeness but then everyone wants to crucify the re caster because he has not gotten the permission from the model company to use their figures for his own gain. It is kinda of ok for me (model/figure) company to make money for free but not for the recaster.

This is just what I am guessing he means.

Yep, it is a pretty obvious double standard that I think has been brought up here once or twice in prior discussions.

Andrea seems to have the worst track record for this as most will already know but there are numerous other examples sprinkled around. The La Hire bust from Young Miniatures might fall into this category although I'm not sure how exactly it's taken from the movie character it was based on. I think with enthusiasm for the subject that it flew under the radar that the figures and busts inspired by 300 were in violation too, ditto with those from Troy, Saving Private Ryan and a few other films I can't think of off the top of my head.
