Hello. Here's a new piece on my bench right now. It will be commercially available soon. I hope you like it. It's 150mm and is being done in MS Flesh. Her left hand will hold a parasol and her right a fan.

Thanks and comments/critiques very welcommed...

Matt

Great sculpting!

As a Japanese I have to critiques. :) It looks a little bit square-shouldered to me. (especially right shoulder)
Typical Japanese women have narrow and sloping shoulders.

Most Japanese think Geisya Kimono looks better with sloping shoulders, and streamline of the nape of the neck and sloping shoulders from the back view is very important.

Thanks, guys. Especially to you Kazfumi. Great advice on the shoulders. She is still very rough at this point. Especially the face. I tend to block in and refine with the knife as I go. I'm contmeplating re-engineering the head and neck. Right now the head and neck are made a a seperate piece for casting purposes, but this is leaving me with an ugly parting line where it meets the clavicles which the painter will have to fill. No good. I may end up changing to a different method there. Still trying to figure out how I will create the underside of the parasol with all it's framework.

Thanks again for the feedback. (y)

Great posture Matt. Couldn't you incorporate the neck into the V where it meets the kimono? That way it would be easier to hide.
Just a thought,
