Hello all!
Here are some images of my version of “Spidy”
It’s 200 mm; about the size of a “real” GI Joe (I guess I just dated myself)

The idea was that he would be swinging through the air between two webs made of fishing line and gauze.

Anyway, comments?

Awesome work Mitchell. I like the idea of Spidey in motion. Looks terrific. No, you didn't date yourself around here, most of us have backyard war stories with Joe (y) . A question. Will it be the movie version of Spidey or the comicbook version? If you choose the comicbook, which one? I look forward to seeing more of this Mitchell!

Mitch,
Wicked!
Excellent work...eager to hear if it will be the comic book or movie version. Either way, it will be incredible painted up. Is this for commercial release?

Beautiful work Mitch!

I especially like the stomach area, hes pretty ripped! Great Job!

Are you mounting him on a base in mid air, or do you have any other plans on the display of this piece?

Welcome to the Planet btw!

Great work,Mitch (y) ;the animation looks fantastic ! Looking forward to seeing the completed figure and how you intend to mount it.Welcome to the "planet" and cheers !
Kenneth

Hi Mitch

That is superb anatomy and excellent animation! Especially well done on those web slinging hands!

welcome to PF!

Sztarbi – Thanks

Jim Patrick – Not quite sure which version it will be. I had thought to do the movie ver. But he may be too buff to pass for Toby Maguire. Which comic book version do you prefer? Do you know of any good references?

LCoote – Thanks

Patrick Kirk - I’ve been thinking about casting it in resin. The whole figure is in six pieces, the head, hands and legs can be removed. I’ll post again when the edition is available

Gordy – Thank you, I don’t have any earlier pics but the whole thing is built on an aluminum foil maquette.

Anders Heintz – I thought about having a platform like the roof of a skyscraper with an antennae and having one web running from the antennae to his right hand. From his left wrist the web would shoot out and attach to the I-beam frame of a building under construction; something fairly simple.

Kenneth Yeo Chye Whatt – Thanks. See my reply to Anders.

Bach – thank you.

Stephen Mallia - Thank you

Rob Herring - Thank you

First, Thank you all for your kind words and smillies!

Hej Gunnar
Alt väl? Your SS fallschirmjäger was a great inspiration. I am now working on a 1/9, circa 1870 Navajo Scout with partial US Cavalry uniform. I'll post some pics soon.

Yes, the Vaseline works great, though the Sculpey gets a little transparent as you pointed out. I will try your other tip about mixing grey Sculpey with the flesh color to counter this.

I really would like to cast my Web Slinger before painting it. Perhaps Dennis and I could visit your studio sometime in the not to distant future? I have your # I'll be in touch if it is OK.
