When I see the $ investment in some of these new ships, I hope that we are remembering the lessons of history (e.g.HMS Repulse and Prince of Wales). A few well paced cruise missles = the loss of a major asset?

If we would remember the lessons of history a bit better we would have to spend a bit more of those £ or €, in my humble opinion... (The $ guys understand this better it seems).
 
In an increasing uncertain world, they keep banging on about how the threat has changed etc etc.

It's just better if the good guys have the biggest stick. They seem to ignore this.
