Hawk Miniatures are proud to annouce the release of a new RFC bust at the Gravesham show on the 10th October 2009

The new bust is of James McCudden VC - RFC/RAF 1918
James McCudden joind the Royal Engineers before joining the RFC where he become the second highest English Ace. Apart from the VC he also won DSO and Bar, MC and Bar and MM.

Sculpted by Carl Reid.

Have been waiting for a release of one of these for a while - like it, but one small criticism for Carl I would prefer hatless or sculpted with the spring removed from the cap as in the wartime photo - he looks here to much like a senior officer (general) than a pilot officer - just me. Would be great to see one of Albert Ball with not headress as many photo's exist of him without in the same style of the Werner Voss bust

Hi Rob,

Glad you like the piece the hat is cast seperate so you can leave it off thoguh you would need to add the top of the head and the missing hair.

Also watch this space for future releases.. Carl already has the research matterial for the next one in the range.
