I do like it & cannot fault the sculpt,however and I do understand why it has been done but no cap badge. Seems a shame when everything else is beautifully sculpted even down to the combined operations patch.

That's very easy to answer Peter, at that point in time during ww2 there was no actual commando cap badge, this was because the commando forces were made up of both Army Volunteers and Royal Marines as well as some allied units. Some troops would wear the cap badge of the regiment they volunteered from, others chose not to wear badges at all, the allied units particular the French and Dutch forces had their own specially made cap badges. So Life Miniatures have got this spot on. You only have to do an image search on google and you will find lots of commandos without cap badges. (I've included some below)

Plus on top of this there was a directive amongst British and Canadian forces to remove all insignia from their uniforms before going to France on d'day, which was totally abided by by some units and completely ignored by others.
